A Travel and Photography Themed Bridal Shower

It’s a happy, happy day here at One Charming Day.  I am always excited to feature chic and creative weddings as well as fun engagement shoots ( which I hope you are all enjoying so far) but today is all new and different.  This the first time I’ll be featuring a bridal shower by M M Photography & Videography.  I am so thrilled I want to do cartwheels but I can’t, so I’ll just leave it at that! 😀

Christina’s bridal shower theme is Travel and Photography.  From the suitcases, table centerpiece, wall and ceiling decors, to the travel brochures and cupcake toppers, you’ll see that every detail was well thought of.   What’s surprising and really amazing is that all these were prepared by the bride’s cousin, Maita Conception, who now has an event styling business called Events by Maita.  Maita’s sister, Katrina, who is Christina’s maid of honor, helped with the paper mache hot air balloons and giveaways.

According to Maita, the food was prepared by one of Christina’s friends who studied to be a chef in the French Culinary Institute in New York City.  Wow!  Christina’s one lucky bride indeed! 🙂

The Bride Christina's Bridal Shower
From Maita:  Christina’s shower was a travel themed shower. It was something her maid of honor and bridesmaids decided to do as traveling is a big part of her life. If you saw the box with the giveaways, it mentioned the saying “Dream, Explore, Discover.” This motto sums up the way Christina lives her life so far and we just wanted to bring that through in her shower.

Aside from the travel theme, my sister also wanted to give the wedding a “crafty” feel. We are big craft enthusiasts thus everything in the shower was personally made by me or my sister. She made the paper mache hot air balloons and giveaways while I made everything else from the flower arrangement, centerpieces, cupcake toppers, to the signage.  We decided to base the color palette from the maps we were able to acquire. We got a lot of inspiration from crafters online as well.
Also, with it being a small shower consisting of around 12-15 women, we decided to make use of things we already had. We just bought a couple of extra things and dressed it up by adding simple details like paper airplanes or maps to it to match our theme.
